Mission Statement

AIDS Volunteers, Inc. is committed to providing education, outreach, and advocacy about HIV and AIDS in Central and Eastern Kentucky in order to:

  • Prevet the spread of HIV
  • Inspire a compassionate response for those who face the challenges of HIV and AIDS
  • Meet the needs of those who are infected and affected by HIV disease

  • What We Do

AIDS Volunteers (AVOL) is a community based organization that provides HIV/AIDS education, prevention initiatives, service programs, and financial assistance to persons infected and affected by HIV disease. Founded in 1987, AVOL provides programs and services throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky.

“AVOL Project Life: Building on Our Legacy” is a new campaign commemorating the organization’s 20th anniversary, with a goal to improve the quality of care for our clients and the level of outreach through prevention efforts. AVOL has a proud legacy to build upon, and the Board of Directors, volunteers, and staff look forward to a new beginning based on AVOL’s extraordinary history.
